Bill's right, nothing has more bump travel than the AFCOs. If you go further, your rear control arms hit the frame :) In the front, the bump limit is where a set of 23" tires will hit the fender liners. That's the cool thing about being able to design the whole shock setup from scratch, you can define your limits and then design components to reach those limits.
We're doing this the smart way. The car is up on the lift with the shocks and bumpstops installed but no springs. This lets us run the wheels through the full range of motion. The NB rear fenders do have more rear room in them, and we have previous experience from running 245/45-16 tires on a +43 wheel to help out. I have had to move part of the inner wheel well on the right rear as mentioned, there was severe interference there. If there's a clearance problem at the top of the travel - the most difficult aspect to check in the rear - I'll make room there as well. It's only metal! In the front, the interference is with the plastic fender liner. The front liners will have to be rebuilt thanks to the rolling of the lips anyhow. My suspension has 550# front 350# rear revalved Koni Yellow and custom made shock tops that are made from NB mounts but have more bump travel than other NB shock top conversions because they utilize sherical ball setup rather than rubber bumpers and washers to secure the the top of the shock rod. The car hasn't been back on the suspension with this setup yet, I'm still in the middle of completing the work. Tire sizes are 235/45-17 front, 255/40-17 rear, on +45mm wheels. I've got the springs off so we can run the suspension through the full range of travel. All four fenders have been rolled but not pulled out much. On the right rear, I had to cut out part of the battery box and move it back to clear the tire. Left rear was almost perfect out of the box. We still have some interference between the sway bar and tire in the front when we try to wind on some steering lock. In the other direction, the tire goes into the control arm just barely at maximum lock. I suspect that with an MSM steering rack the latter problem would be solved. I'm going to see how it drives right now, then probably do some work to increase the sway bar clearance. Thanks to the V8 conversion, Elvis' front sway is further forward and this is not ideal for tire clearance.
