Modified cars cost more to insure, in general, because the mods are
supposed to make them more valuable, faster, etc.
Somewhere along the application process you should have been asked if
the car was modified. If you were not asked, then you are probably
OK.
If you were asked and responded incorrectly, then they may try to deny
a claim on the grounds that you acquired the insurance under false
pretenses.
If, for example, you have custom rally stripes and get hit in the
front and part of the stripe needs to be replaced, along with the
damage to the non-custom
paint work, then you may have to pay for the stripes. Policies
usually cover what is reasonable and customary.
You should have the claim paid, no problem, but look for them to drop
you or up your rates if they find out your car is modified.
