1954 – 13-year old Robert Zimmerman gets bar mitzvahed at the Agudath
Achim Synagogue in Hibbing, Minnesota, two days before his birthday,
and celebrates at the Androy Hotel with 400 guests.
1955 – A dance featuring Fats Domino is cancelled by Bridgeport,
Connecticut police for fear of rioting by rock and roll crazed
teenagers.
1957 – Joe Bennett and The Sparkletones record "Black Slacks."
1958 – Jerry Lee Lewis arrives at Heathrow Airport in London for his
first British tour, and reveals to a stunned press that his bride is
his 13-year old cousin. The 37-date tour is cancelled after only three
shows.
1960 – The Brothers Four appear on The Ed Sullivan Show, performing
"Greenfields." Other musical guests include Nelson Eddy and Gale
