We may not be reading the same book, Slip, or even the same edition.
And an argument could be made on the basis of social change of a
slaveholder/slave relationship and its impact upon politics and
personal conduct. For we do the same with the clergy/pederasty, judges/
bribes, business/fraud, etc. The crossing of lines is social change.
