I agree that "thinking something wonderful" is a good way to offer
immediate relief from the effect of guilt, but studying and solving
the cause of the guilt is vital to resolving the issue in my
experience. I think negativity of any kind must have more attention
paid to it than possitive events, since they can do the most damage,
to the extent of blotting out the potential of good things happening.
Redemption can only be achieved by hard work, but allowing joyful
events to warm one in the face of a northerly wind certainly helps.
