London's sewers collapsed long ago Slip - the 'night-soil' is now
shipped off to China using East European labour who think they are
digging new Tube tunnels. I understand the Thames Water Authority add
sewage to the water because Londoners are so used to eating it before
lapsing into Cockney patois. This is what we hear in the North
anyway, but then education hasn't reached us yet. We're about as
literate as New Mexico here, but as we're more socialist none of us
can actually read but all of us can half-read. My understanding is
that London will be in one of Poland, Bulgaria or Somalia by 2012, or
possibly divided into cantons of all three. All sensible denizens are
long gone and the mayor is a mad Etonian stand-up comedian who isn't
funny. All this rather rocks your case that Chicago was turned down
over a few muggings.
