Don't mistake me, Neil, I have no doubt that the rhetoric was emotional, that the political discussion was hot, that the propoganda against isolationists was just as terrible as that against the war effort. Bankers was just as big a dirty word then as it is now. All I am saying is that here in Detroit, there is much written against and in support of the men who followed this path, and the rest of us are left to wonder what was actually true. Generations after, we lose sight of the cultural mindset of the times, and tend to judge according to our own. I don't think it is possible to compare.
