I just find our legal systems worse than they could be.  A classic in
ours Lee was the failure of a jury to convict Clive Ponting, the guy
who told us the Belgrano was sailing the wrong way - a triumph of a
jury just ignoring the prosecution and judge, deciding the guy did the
decent thing and refusing to convict despite the evidence and law.  A
perverse decision according to the judge.  I guess we'd both have been
proud to be one of those 'perverts' Lee.  I doubt the Italians are any
worse than we are.
