Well, it sounds like you could write a book on the topic.  How about
if YOU decide how to break it out.  I suggested a time line, maybe you
could put something like that together?  Choose the events or trends
and the dates, put them in order from oldest to most recent.  Other
people might have different things to add to the same date ranges.
Eventually it might be very interesting to compare and combine time
lines between the two threads.  I am hoping that there are some
history buffs that are willing to chime in with general world events:
the rise and fall of civilizations, and the like.
