Ohh flags for me are differant Ian.  I see no problem with the
UnionFlag, nor the Flag St George.  let people fly them if they want
for whatever reasons they wish, I have no problems with that at  all.

Like you though, I don't understand the effect flags gseem to have on
people.  Flag burning is greeted all over the world with anger.  Makes
no sense to me.
