I guess wat Vam meant was that if you focus too much on one thing you tend to get rigid..and you know wat happens when one turns rigid regarding their own beliefs...it leads to violence in the face of something counter to the held beliefs... i would say if you are rigid regarding your own beliefs then be privately rigid..instead of shouting at the counter person to go to hell..you can curse them under your breath and smile at them..lesser of the two evils..
