Well, in a sense that's true. I can safely predict there will always be some amount of corruption and larceny, meanness and terrorism. As for history being written by control freaks, I'm not sure who or what type of person you refer to, but regardless, even if it's true, there are others also writing history that are not control freaks, who try to maintain a modicum of honest impartiality in reporting their creation and study of a part of our history. These "people" you refer to ... they include us as well. And the only way they are going to be moved is if we gather with others of like thought and work against the ones who would betray our trust and confidence. It goes on like that ad nauseam because and until a critical mass of thoughtful and concerned people is achieved. Then changes begin to happen. I still believe this is happening, though not very fast. Not fast enough.
