The lack of openess would be my guess due to a number of modern screw-
ups. (See: "The Closing of the American Mind" by Allan Bloom) In the
USA we have nearly three generations from the "60's who are mostly
dysfunctional due to the breakdown of society. Perhaps it is an
historical curse which wouldn't be the first time this has happened to
an empire. There really is no substitute for an excellent liberal
education (liberal devoid of any political meaning, in this sense) no
matter what later field one intends to enter. Unfortunately, the
habits of the West acquired after WWII turned strange and sad. I
apologize for the mess in prayer but have yet to receive a reply! Or
further instructions!
