Recently a band of billionaires met to commit to leaving their fortunes to charitable causes- it included Gates, Buffet and Turner, I believe. But I wondered if part of their motive was to avoid having their wealth taxed to pieces by the government and trusts can work magic in that regard. There is also a way to donate stock and buy it back to avoid paying capital gains.
