The most interesting idea of God the Divine Personage that I have heard (rather than as a Logos of some kind) has him / her acting as a kind of supreme nexus for mortal souls as we strive to become more likethe Deity. The most compelling account of this kind of God came from a woman who posted her experiences on a forum I was reading a while back. She stated that she had posed the question, "What path should we take to become more like you, God?" And God reportedly said to her, "I don't care."

I love this idea of a God who is present and good and upholds the Cosmos and all of that, but who is also so invested in our freedom to explore and expand that he / she doesn't interfere with the biggest choices a soul can make. And it seems to me a loving embrace of all the ways that a person can be and become.

Ah yes Bill I wonder if I have read the entirety of what I have babbled.. I had a chance glance at the first four pages mainly the index of 'Seth Speaks' from what they are saying that it originated from a supernatural source, which for the most part puts me off from ever reading it. What I am writing does not come from some super natural source but from me babbling.. I am not looking for converts but rather people who like to explore theological ideas and concepts..

The Mandala concept I always thought to be of Hindi origin. paulism or christianity have their beloved heaven and hell. The ATI all that is does some what fit except there is more.. during one of my earlier events I was told simply "When you think you know it all there is more." That has proven to be true time and time again. I am more amazed at what I don't know than what I do know.

Bill I do believe we are all part of the Great Entirety which for visual purposes is a great Mandala where or your social status for lack of a better idea is on the Mandala if one successfully lives life with doing as little harm as possible then one would be closer to the warmth of the inner glow.. if there is fragrant violation of this simple law they would be in the cold outer reaches. (visual effect as I have no idea)

    Hey Allan,

(I think it was Allan --I haven't read the, um, entirety of this
    thread)
Both your "Entirety" and your "Mandala" suggest elements of the
classical Christian Logos --which I always took to mean God
considered mostly as a principle of Order rather than as a Divine
Personage; yet a principle of order, somehow, with a heart. Your
Entirety also suggests to me what the "Seth Speaks" folks refer to
as ATI (All That Is). I appreciate this deeply. In ordinary
discussions of this kind, God winds up being so special and
puffed up that you can't get a handle on the Big Guy without
stepping on someone's trinitarian toes. (And of course, the
Entirety isn't a "Guy" big, little or otherwise.) Other than
that, I don't have much to say on this subject, as I'm still
wrestling with and evaluating Christian notions of the Divine and
trying to see if they can still work for me, or if something else
is wanted as we glide through the beginnings of the new millenium.
