I personally think daily releases are a bit too much bleeding edge. Of course they're useful to developers and dedicated testers, but we can't expect regular users to keep up with this. So for regular users we need to have something that is between 'stable' and 'dev'. Therefore I think having a bi-weekly 'testing' release would be a nice compromise which can be realized with minimal effort.
