My mom's REALLY picky about ride quality. She HATED the H&R/Bilstein
combo I had before, but she commented on how nicely my car rode when I had
her in the SRS/bilstein car for a 4-hour trip last summer. Just ask Tony
Pelletier how nicely my old jetta rides. :( On top of that, I wasn't
scraping my airdam on every driveway I went into.
Their street springs are linear rate. 200lb front 120 rear (I think).
They also sell higher rate springs if you want them. I think they make
300# and 400# ones for the A2/A3. I had H&R/bilsteins on my GTI,
softsports/boges on the jetta and SRS/bilsteins later on the jetta and the
SRS springs were the most comfortable and the best handling...even on
michigan roads and boston streets. They were less 'floaty' than the
softsports were, but I don't know how much that had to do with the shock
differences...probably alot. If you're interested in the best compromise
between performance and real-world comfort, the SRS stuff is unbeatable. I
dunno how they'd stack up against the neuspeed or H&R race springs, but
those really aren't for everyday use on east coast roads. I hate sounding
like an advertisement for them, but in spite of their nasty attitude and
offensive marketing, they have some nice springs.
