Not to mention the 2.3l 20v turbo I5 that audi was using in their rally
cars back in the day. Those things could put out 800 hp all day long
(literally) and 1200hp in trans-am trim. My dad's '91 200TQ is putting out
over 300 horsepower and has over 180K miles on the original motor, head,
clutch, tranny, turbo AND AWD system. VW/Audi knows how to build 'em.
FWIW, the car is now for sale in the michigan area. Maintenence costs
($800 brake rotors) are driving him up the wall...he just bought a '95 VR6
Jetta. :) The car is essentially perfect. It needs nothing. It looks
spectacular. It's the fastest thing I've ever sat in. It will blow away
stock S4's and run with new non-turbo 911's. It's got a HUGE interior,
great ride quality and it's quiet...a total sleeper. Last winter it went
through 3 feet of snow before it started to get stuck. It's a full-sized
car with a manual transmission and a 7K RPM redline. Someone with pockets
deep enough to maintain such a beast should buy it. It's basically stock
except for a chip and some other boost mods and a set of good shock
absorbers. I'm serious when I say that this car is pretty much mint
condition. I'm not sure exactly how much he wants, but due to the mileage,
it'll cost you way less than anything else that goes that fast.
