I spanked a 5.0 'stang(which appeared to be mildly modded...exhaust, lowered, wheels for sure) on the way home from Waterfest this year. I was cruising at about 80, and he pulled along side me and started blipping the throttle, so I felt obligated to show him up. I dumped it into 4th, and by the time I hit 7Krpm, I was half a car out on him. Hit 5th and it was over. I backed off at about (indicated)130mph, at which point I was about 5 cars out on him. The DFQ (A3 8V) trans I am running is excellent for top speed runs, if a little sluggish around town. I love it, though.
