When I first installed my K&N Drop in Filter, within three months of hard daily driving I had to replace my MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) due to it completely failing. Granted my engine had 80,000+ miles on it. Not sure it was the K&N, but I was told they do that and the timing was very suspicious. I have a A2 '90 GLI 16v 2.0. I'm sure the newer cars are even more sensitive, but I beg to differ on the invulnerability claims to the A2's Engines.

They don't cause any problems for our "old tech" air plates... -josh --- Boyd Drew <[email protected]> wrote: > Had not heard this... and havent ever had a K&N come > apart either... > I have heard that this can happen with foam element > filters, > but it hasnt happened to the ITG one that Im > currently using in the year its > been in... > > -----Original Message----- > From: Bensinger, Greg > [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 10:37 AM > To: A2_16v (E-mail) > Subject: [A2-16v] K&N filters and the 16v > > > Hi all, > > Do people recommend running a K&N drop in filter w/ > the 16v?
