I'm sorry to butt in but I think its quite useless complaining between the same people....I'm not too sure if anyone here will spot out a decent solution.
I'm quite in favour of Linux, even tough I'm a beginner (as most of us are), and found lots of trouble. So.. I agree totally with trying to put Linux on the Maltese PCs. So why don't you (meaning the Linux Group) try to find a computer store who will start distributing Linux instead of Windows and maybe one of you guys (this goes to the Geeks) go and give a lecture or two the new fellows! So, they'd want to install programs, configure stuff, etc.. etc.. Which is difficult. I think many budding computer students (such as myself) fall into these two categories. Most computer students simply abandon Linux and use Windows, maybe until they're geniuses/uber geeks. Very few keep trying ad nauseum.
