It is easy (if it works), just short a jumper and then use tftp boot method. However, if you can get to Linksys firmware you just need to upload a .bin of the new firmware through the admin/upgrade interface. dd-wrt has docs on all this as well as how to find the right firmware for your router. I actually use Tomato now on wrt54g. With the recommendation of visiting www.dd-wrt.com, I downloaded the recommended bin file (3.54megs), installed it, setup the wireless and we are running. Now to see if it will survive (to eliminate hardware problems). Regarding Tomato, I would like to learn more about it. Even with this software version that I installed, there is functionality that I know little about. For one thing, I have a requirement to use dhcp backend, except for one local server. There, I want the address fixed. With the linksys software, it appeared to be all-or-nothing for dhcp. So, for now, the linksys appears stable. I will google the tomato software to learn more about it, and if I can, I will take a Sunday AM to experiment with it. Thanks to all for the advice and leads. Leslie
