Hi Garry I am surprised at the F13 problems you had. I always download the DVD iso version and do a check for proper iso burning. I have never tried to install from a flash drive though.
I did live CD test version 14 beta, and had no problems with it. Lately, the major patches for Fedora have been for Security. A patch in a base library results in an update to all software which was built using that library. And then there are new software that is introduced. I don't play much, and look at compiling programs for database, TCP Socket communication, IPC and encryption. These are my current areas of interest. Check out Fedora 14 next week. Then I upgraded to 13 .. "*&/?$ Hell on Wheels! I had to try 4 or 5 times to get it to just install .. I've been doing Linux since RH 5.1 .. and I struggled like heck .. so yeah, Fedora is usually good, but not always! Ubuntu, I ran 9.x for 4 months and then got rid of it, great for someone who is not technical moving over from Windows, I installed it on my ex-girlfriend's Aspire One, but no good for an experienced Linux person .. Just my 2c worth, feel free to disagree! Gary B On 10/26/2010 10:07 PM, Leslie S Satenstein wrote: I guess it is the reason I stick to Fedora.
