I am using cinnamon and like it. I can click on a data icon, and the correct 
program starts. Unlike Gnome3 or Unity, where one must first choose the 
application. 

 Negative side. cinnamon or Mint does not like to stay operational if you 
constantly mix virtual terminal and gui. It eventually blows up, with only 
option, a poweron reset.
(Blinking keyboard lights).   The other day, at midnight, as the second 
switched past midnight, the screen went wild, black, and then partially 
viewable. I saved, exited and returned to continue work, but cinnamon is not 
yet rock solid stable, but it will be.
