Your tip worked! I managed to change the language of Mnemosyne into English,
which is excellent news but...for some reason I am still missing the last
300 cards. So this brings me back to my original problem: I have backups of
all my Mnemosyne cards but my latest backups all look like this:
default-20100807.xml.bz2  and when I try to import them into the Mnemosyne
program it tells me that the program doesn't recognize the extension
.xml.bz2
This is most bizarre because I am using the exact same USB pen that I was
using before coming to Japan and all the cards displayed perfectly before.
Ahhh well. I feel like I have made some progress but still halfway there...
