When I took that screenshot I had already reinstalled Mnemosyne by then, at 
least two times.  And yes, I've already tried to remove Mnemosyne's data 
directory.  I also tried removing all references to Mnemosyne in the 
registry but that didn't seem to help either.

This is a new computer so I can't imagine that it has anything to do with 
the drive.  The hard drive is an ssd that I purchased no more than 3 months 
ago.

I did notice that in the task manager Mnemosyne continuously uses about 17% 
CPU.  Perhaps it is stuck in some sort of infinite loop?
