Are we here thinking of an on-going, pro-active, utilisation scenario in this specific and totally unique exemplification?
Not, of course, that I should for one moment, in my wildest dreams, possibly conceive of a continuum situation where excessive verbosity could perceivably be considered as a means of motivationalised expression. If you catch my drift, in this current, interactive, recreational communication activity. Now you have a whole new raft of modular expositionalist verbiage to contend with. Unaccustomed as I am to saying as many words as possibly in an attempt to obfuscate, obscure and otherwise hide the complete lack of meaning in any of the foregoing drivel, I feel it behoves me to say, at this temporal juncture, 'Good Night'. Often "use" can be used in place of the even uglier "utilize" and "utilization", TC David. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: Owen Jenkins [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 09 June 2012 20:09 To: mogtalk2 Subject: Re: [mogtalk2] grammar There's a subtle difference in meaning. "Usage" is about the way something is used, rather than the fact of its being used. In English, there was, usually, a good reason for more than one word to exist with generally similar meaning. There would be a nuance (English word?? Another strength of English - if we have no suitable word, we'll borrow one) of meaning. Cheers, Owen. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: mogtalk2 Sent: Saturday, June 09, 2012 6:16 PM Subject: [mogtalk2] grammar Why ugly big "*usage" when "use" does just as well?
