Hi Tim

I had a read of the article and this makes complete sense. I have 145lb main
springs and standard bump springs, when I fitted these the road height was
lowered by 1 inch and also roller bearings fitted under the main spring to make
the steering easier. The car does handle well but like the article explains the
balance can be upset when the load increases and suddenly the effective total
spring force decreases.

So one question, the article states that shortening the bump spring to the
point that it is just touching the bottom of the stub axle when the car is
stationery will increase the ride height, I am trying to get get my head around
why this happens, and what to do to maintain a similar ride height to what I
have now? I simple explanation would be very helpful as I may undertake this in
the coming winter.

Regards,

Adrian
