for the record................i recognize that Heritage's Signature auctions--especially the live/audience--section--can only include "better" pieces. i have said on MOPO that should or when i ever sell my entire collection, i want all my 1000+++ posters to go to Heritage's Live Signature Auction. All collectors would love their top pieces in a Live Signature Auction: the net prices to the consignors typically are the highest. heritage has surpassed chrities and sotherbys.
heritage's $5000 minimum as a matter of policy is their decision. BUT, BUT, BUT............my original posting sought opinions on how to best market a sungle poster valued at bwtween 1500 to 3000, and of course, contributors add new angles to the discussions. michael -----Original Message----- From: Smith, Grey - 1367 <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sat, Aug 1, 2009 12:19 pm Subject: Re: [MOPO] AN OPEN LETTER TO CONSIGNEES Hello Michael, Todd and Mopo Yes, it is true we hope to have at least a $5000 minimum value consignment from ny one consignor. And since we feel there is significant price information from ur site which can help us and the consignor in that evaluation, we believe t is more often than not a fair accessment, though always willing to discuss. e offer two very successful venues in which to sell material and do getter etter prices on much of the material we sell. So if a consignor has three $500 tems and thirty $30-50 items we will do bu siness and will seldom turn away an pportunity to sell quality items. e are always open to good consignments and try to be very fair in our ccessments. ichael did have some nice items and a few that would normally be run in our eekly venue. From my understanding, he wanted all in a catalog auction and thus e were unable to work with him in this instance. I feel sure we should be able o do business in the future. will often take a chance on rare items in the hopes they will exceed the $5000 ark with no priors to compare. Sometimes they work out very well. Sometimes not s well as hoped, but we will always welcome inquiries as how we can help a otential consignor and if value warrented will travel to you to discuss! n Aug 12009, at 4:14 AM, "Todd Feiertag" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> rote don't know if that applies to just their sports department, but it doesn't ake sense. For instance, if someone has 5 real nice $500. items, they would turn it down?? Surely, if the value of the poster is just a couple of undred, so be it!!!! bruce did his job in getting the fair value. But, that ouldn't please the consignor. i have about 6 top posters that i want to sell. one, for example, is ALL ABOUT VE insert. bruce sales of it are as follows: $1,650 in 2008, $733 in 2005 and 1,976 in 2002. Is there a way for me to guarantee $1, 400 in my pocket or have it returned to e? is there a way for that 1931 poster to achieve 3,000 net for that owner or et it returned to him? thoughts? michael isit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at <http://www.filmfan.com> ww.filmfan.com<http://www.filmfan.com> __________________________________________________________________ ow to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List end a message addressed to: <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> n the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L he author of this message is solely responsible for its content. _______________________________ et back to school stuff for them and cashback for you.
