Yeah, interesting to see what was passed. I think a combination of high
reserves, changing tastes and economic uncertainty are all factors. But as you
say, Peter, the downturn in prices (if that's what it turns out to be) in some
collecting areas could be an opportunity for those who love and collect that
stuff. Obviously, though, not so great for anybody who bought and is holding it
on speculation. To repeat the mantra (and why not, it's good advice): Buy what
you love, put it up on the wall and enjoy it.

I'm pretty much in spot on agreement with this, with one minor
correction. All that really matters is what *two* well-heeled bidders think.

There were some interesting non-sales at Heritage, including some UniHo
(which seemed to suffer from too high reserves and "usual suspect" buyers who
might have other things on their minds). More surprising was the complete
collapse of Shemp era Stooges material (another example of a couple of buyers
jinxing the market?), poor Jeen Hahlow, and '20s/'30s comedians. Even a lot of
Bogies unsold. Seems like the economy and too optimistic reserves took their
toll.

On the upside, these are finally coming back to where us mortals can
grab a piece or two before they rebound when things turn around (hopefully).

All that matters is what the few well-heeled bidders think, and when
one of the major players (Kirk Hammett) switches from buyer to seller, that is
a HUGE reversal in the tiny high end part of the hobby.
