There is also the "fear factor". Once you get sold an overgraded poster, or
a poster with restoration that wasn't adequately described, or even a
reproduction (even if you were later refunded) then you are going to be
reluctant to bid a lot of money on another item from that same seller.

That is why I think those who use those selling tactics are "penny wise and
pound foolish". They may make a killing on this one sale, but may lose an
excellent buyer for the long term.
