First I have ever heard of anything like this with these guys.
As there is visual evedience (the stamps) that they are different pieces, then 
I don't understand why a
refund is not the simple answer.

run a nice full tilt auction once or twice a year.  You know even the best 
sellers have on occasion farted up wind making for that occasional stinky
