occasions restorers would be requested to remove  the autograph when the 
poster was linen-backed. Of course in rare  occasions...for instance, if the 
poster was autographed by Jean Harlow or  Carole Lombard or Greta Garbo...this 
might not be the case. But in most  instances, I've always heard that an 
autograph definitely does  not make a movie poster more valuable...
