Anyone who defines reality as "energy" is deferring to objectivist
ideology. That's not a metaphysical concept but the current
(unconfirmed) view of physicists who are dealing with the material
world.

I guess I'm deffering to objectivist ideology then. The current
unconfirmed view of physicists dealing
with the material world works more for me than the ideas of somone who
thinks they have it all figured out
based on principles of self realized extended logic when the weight of
evidence leans heavily in favor
of the physicists who at least have some sort of justification for their
theories in phenominal reality.

What it boils down to is I can't seem to shake the possibility of
consciousness and spirit being
illusions. That the complexity of awareness is mostly autonomic brain
function. That we imagine
there is ultimate universal reason and purpose. The possibility that
reality just "is", end of story.
The theory that all is varying forms of inter-related energy works just
fine for me. It sure works better
than God , Essent, Dq, prime motivator or any other human convention.
E=mc2 can be confirmed by the
survivors of Hiroshima...it works...matter is energy, much to their
shagrin.
we could even agree on this yet the argument of dualism can again be
raised by inferrence of positive
and negative charge. But everytime I look at it dualistic logic come up
short. it does not take
everything into account. In either /or logic of excluded middles it
gives one an incredibly simplified
version of reality that can be most inaccurate.
