The brujo story IMO  represented how a society accomodated an individual
who challenged it's order
and found a place within it's structure for them in lieu of punishment,
release, alienation and
recurrance of his unsocial practices, they gave the brujo a function,
responsibility and acceptance.
but that's just how I interpreted it. 
Moral force is a tough question Platt. I just do not know,
nor do I have the philosophical weight behind me to accurately answer
such a question.
