Hi Marsha, 

Governesses and boarding schools demanded discipline. No? As I wrote, I am
not talking about harsh physical abuse. Do you not believe me? A "proper little
Platt?" Just exactly what do you mean? I was brought up to be polite and respect
others. Weren't you? Is that what you mean? As for child labor laws, the first
were enacted in Victorian England.
