The gaia metaphor I like. "Ishmael" is more of the same. The
pantheistic notion (a la Spinoza) is also referenced by Dennett in
Breaking the Spell - I blogged some quotes recently - he also refers
to love of the world a "sacred" - so no way science is excluded from
such a metaphor - simply enlightened by it.

Anyone come across "egg" - the "electro-gaia-gram" - project recently
? Something I blogged about years ago.
