Hi Gav

Would society be transformed if we recognised all
individuals as a source of value, and that all individuals
have to realise what is of value for themselves?

And where we decide to undertake collective
actions and have collective organisations these need
to continually need to consider and confirm the values
that determine how they behave?

hey dave,
....and now we are moving from the paradigm of planet
earth to mother earth - gaia, the superorganism. which
brings us full circle back to the cosmogonical myths
of the first peoples.

this paradigm shift is not subtle. the implications
are revolutionary. what was formerly an inert ball
with some living stuff on it becomes a virtual deity,
no an actual deity. the earth is transformed or
re-recognised as sacred, all of it, indivisible and we
are integrated with it.
this doesn't mean shedding science, quite the
contrary. science is enriched by a metaphysical
reorientation and in turn enriches our traditional
understandings immensely - offering wholly new
analogues and structures withing which we can
conceptualise and understand nature and ourselves.

once the world is seen as an extension of the self;
and the self a mirror of the world, then power returns
to the individual. politics is superceded. the golden
age returns because people decide it to be so.

wonderful
