I believe that the Tao is beyond the realm of mundane experience.
The rational mind has to be quieted first and stillness has to be induced to
be able to encounter the Tao/Brahman.

The Tao is neither excluded from the mundane nor inaccessible to the
rational mind. It can be found in the stillness of a pond and the raging of
the sea. Look and you will see it in the flow of traffic. Listen and you
will hear in the roar of the crowd.
