I don't think we need to think anything about the man based on his statement.

[Arlo]
No, but for me I consider the totality of his words in this forum.

[Steve]
We can just talk about the idea and whether it is right or wrong. Certainly
race is a big issue in this election, but anyone who as tried to talk about the
issue has been called a racist.

[Arlo]
My reply was simply "because it is untrue". I've asked many questions now and
have gotten no reply. So what "issue" do you feel is not being talked about?

"Race" is an issue that has never resolved in this country. You think it
would've, but it has not. And, as I've said, there are idiots who would vote
for someone because he is black, just as there are idiots who would vote
against someone because he is black. And there are idiots who would vote for
someone because he is a white man. Take a look at the population of this
country, and tell me that its "reasonable" that no person of any hue, nor any
woman (let alone a woman who was not manish) has ever been nominated for
president. Why is that? So I do imagine that there are many women and many
blacks who feel that this is worth it simply for the hurdle it makes. Once
we've had a few black presidents, or a few female presidents, or hell even a
few native american presidents, I imagine that wil dissipate. You remember the
uproar this country had when it elected a (GASP!) catholic! And this election
many revolted against the idea of nominating a (GASP) mormon!
