SA: Experience has a different meaning, than what you
think, in the moq. Yet, to get past this 'different
meaning' of experience, value, moral, and quality is a
hurdle for a number of people from going forward and
understand the moq. It's probably due to our
language, thus, the definitions we apply to words.
How we use words and define such usage of words is
what gets into dictionaries and such. The meanings of
words change over time. A whole field called
etymology is concerned with studying this change in
word meaning. Pirsig expanded the definition of
certain words, but this expanison of the meaning of
these words does not usurp the previous meaning of the
words. It enhances the meanings of these words in
order that these word meanings are more precise to a
moq. Such as the word bodhisattva changed meaning
over time to sharpen the meaning to what was being
understood in experience (as noted in the post [MD] No
separation says bodhisattva). Such as you, Ham, have
changed the meaning of Essence from the older Greek
version. Words are tied in with reality, and a new
perspective with reality will consequently change
words. Rocks will be understood differently, all of
reality changes. This is what a new or different
metaphysics basically does.
