Jorge: Re. Krimel's question: No need at all to talk
about Science at all when discussing values. The
subject just arose in this Science and the MOQ Thread.

My comments were in response to DM and Maxwell's notion that the prevailing
philosophy of science fails to take values into consideration. I can really
only respond to what Maxwell says in the radio interview but it seems a bit
unfair to claim as he does that the French enlightenment philosopher's got
the goals of science wrong when they claimed it serves to expand knowledge. 

He claims in effect that they were wrong because they did not account for
the unintended consequences of expanded knowledge. It is as though he is
blaming scientists less for ignoring wisdom than for not having
precognition.
