Hello Bo, <snip> (Bo) >...But then the crucial question is: What role is > SOM relegated inside MOQ's static realm and my thesis is that it is the > intellectual level - all of it (the SOL interpretation). > (mel) This is an intriguing question you pose, Bo.
My initial reaction is: Clearly the SOM has been a valuable tool in the intellectual toolbox; it has allowed us to discern the anecdotal or opinion from the more statistically visible and repeatable observation. (Highly useful on static subjects as modelled in the intellect.) I do, however believe that SOM is merely one of many available tools, and we make more all the time, and not all of quality is a 'fit' for the SOM socket. I must think further on this... <snip> (Bo) > ...Yet, what's not right is the > view that the MOQ is a (new) intellectual pattern that will reform the > 4th. level. Intellect is a MOQ pattern and the trick is to rise above that > level (inside of which the term "intellect" means a mind that thinks) to > the MOQ where the 4th. level is value of the mind/world distinction. > (mel) The paragraph above is dense with meaning for my sensibilities and I have been re-reading it for twenty minutes. One bite at a time... The first sentence: ">...Yet, what's not right is the > view that the MOQ is a (new) intellectual pattern that will reform the > 4th. level." feels a little like I came into the middle of a discussion, but I don't see anything as a problem. I'm just blind to an assumption or some such as to how the sentence was phrased. The second sentence I take the meaning of to be similar to saying that it is of more value to stay near the dynamic edges of intellect as much as possible. Again, more thought neccessary.
