Static Quality is Quality too, thus the DQ/SQ (dualistic)
constellation is reality's ground. The static part isn't of lesser
quality than the dynamic, the two makes up the Quality Reality.

The SOM postulates one subjective and one objective reality. It's
horribly faulty and produces paradoxes galore yet you (people)
swallow it by accepting it in the its language/reality form.
The MOQ postulates a Dynamic medium in which Static patterns
have formed one layer upon the next.
Look, Pirsig refers to William James. (LILA page 372)
The second of James' two main systems of philosophy,
which he said was independent of pragmatism, was his
radical empiricism. By this he meant that subjects and
objects are not the starting points of experience. Subjects
and objects are secondary. They are concepts derived
from something more fundamental which he described as
"the immediate flux of life which furnishes the material to
our later reflection with its conceptual categories."
Who had understood that subjects and objects are not the starting
point of experience, but derived from something more fundamental
... etc. Then Pirsig says
What the Metaphysics of Quality adds to James'
pragmatism and his radical empiricism is the idea that the
primal reality from which subjects and objects spring is
value.
See. He calls the primal reality "Quality", its only static "level" was
the S/O (at this stage) thus the MOQ is the
DYNAMIC QUALITY / STATIC QUALITY (dualism).
Nothing about a QUALITY spawning the MOQ, something that
corresponds to SOM's notion of Newton discovering a pre-existing
Gravity

I have the hunch that the problem in understanding the MOQ in its
true SOL form is SOM's tentacles streching at us all the way from
Plato's, now of DQ as the IDEAL (permanent) and SQ as the
SHADOWY (perishable) but all S/O forms are invalid ... outside
the intelectual level that is.
