[Arlo previously] I'm repeating myself here, but this is not what I said. I said, you said that both people and dogs experience quality, but to affirm it as 'Quality' takes faith.
I ask, the same could be said of "light"; both people and dogs experience light, does it also take faith to "affirm" it as Light? [Michael] Word weasel alert. [Arlo] They are your words. You said, "it takes faith to affirm it as Quality". I ask, does it take faith to affirm it as Light? (Four times now, think you can answer that question?) [Michael] Mine is merely "affirmation absent proof." (and I have said as much in EVERY post I've made in this thread.) [Arlo] You can say the same nonsensical thing over and over. It doesn't mean anything. You said, both humans and dogs experience quality. No faith here yet. Then you add, "it takes faith to affirm [that experience] as "Quality"". You experience something, then based on faith "affirm" it as something. No? So, ANY affirmation of experience (experience translated into some concept/word/language) is based on "faith". It both humans and dogs experience BOTH quality and coldness (they do), then why does it only take faith to affirm one as "Quality" but not the other as "Coldness"? [Michael] I'm using it as "have faith of", you are using it as "have faith in." [Arlo] You keep saying this too. As if it means something to you. Whatever. But its not accurate. [Michael] You have faith "of" the existence of Quality. Neither of us can prove the existence "of" that which we have faith any more than Leprechaunists can prove the existence of Leprechauns. [Arlo] Incorrect. My dog laid down again today in a beam of sunlight. Proof of Quality right there. Maybe Ron is right, time for you to actually read the books. If you think we have no more "proof of" Quality than we have "proof of" Leprechauns, there is little more we have to discuss.
