I think of fluids: space, air, water, etc. Waves occur in water with some regularity, light waves in space produce color, sound waves in air produce music. The vibrations follow a template. They are not haphazard. They have a form and meaning.

The sound octave, the light spectrum, the wave configuration are pattern conformable. What is the pattern of reality? Metaphysics! What goes up must come down! Sometimes! Evolution creates levels in existence, morality! How many levels? Pirsig describes 4. Is his schema exhaustive? I don¹t think so. By analogy to the sound octave as described by Pythagoras I acknowledge evolution into seven levels in DQ existence! Not all intervals are equal and some describe SQ, like defined rocks and others describe DQ like undefined emotions. 1 Inorganic 2 organic (single-cell organisms) 3 organic (multiple-cell organisms) 4 emotional 5 intellectual 6 higher emotional 7 higher intellectual (the last two levels are in consciousness only and describe the heroes of history) Do Re Mi_Fa Sol La Ti_Do What is the social level? Imho the social level contains a mishmash of differing individuals with centers of gravity in emotions, thoughts, or sensations! As a mixture it is not definable as a level in evolution a level in existence. Rather the social level is a political consideration encompassing both emotional and intellectual levels.
