I think I see the confusion, then.  I view emotions as an artifact of the

While you elevate emotions, or at least divide them into different
categories and elevate some.

And this "mishmash" confusion is caused by Pirsig's failure to clearly
define the Intellectual Level so that everyone can understand and agree on
what it is.
