Dan:

Yes. It speaks to me. I am attracted to the MOQ by more than the words
written in a book.

Arlo:

Does it do anything else?

Dan:

It explains reality better than other metaphysics that I am aware of.

While this may

I find that those are ususally indicative of someone else in the room
with me. Usually.

Arlo:
"The MOQ" does not speak,

Dan:

Maybe you're not listening, my friend.

Arlo:

"The MOQ" is a

Dan:

In other words, it is a collection of intellectual patterns of
quality. It is not Robert Pirsig himself.

Dan:

I can't speak for Marsha, but I am not promoting anything. If you want
to say "Robert Prisig says" that is fine. I am not sure how that
differs as far as interpretive legitimacy goes, however. He is
certainly as free to interpret the MOQ as anyone.

Dan:
How is he not "just another interpretor"? He has put the MOQ "out
there" as a collection of intellectual quality patterns for all the
see. Now, isn't he is as bound to be consistent with his vision as
anyone? It has become part of the culture.

Dan:

So what difference does it make if we say "Robert Pirsig says" or "the
MOQ says"? Isn't just a personal preference, really?

Thank you,
