I think the Watts quote is spot on in explaining the MOQ view. Following DQ is not a choice or a matter of will if we follow the paradigmatic hot stove example of what it means to follow DQ, but it is a sort of freedom. I think it is similar to Spinoza's notion of freedom as following God's will. Only God is truly free, so paradoxically we can only be free if we chain ourself to God.
