Hi Joe,
Yes, Quality is more like music than an edifice. We have some
convinced that Quality has the four walls of inorganic, biological,
social, and intellectual, when in actuality it can equally be
considered as a symphony. We have some that take the division of
dynamic and static literally, and then perform an Aristotelian
break-down of these components seeking truth. Put enough words
together, and it will give the appearance of truth. And taking it as
such we get completely stuck. There is no music on a page of paper.
We do not create a building out of music. We do not project music out
or backward to make it sensible. We just enjoy it.

Comparing things is simply comparing things. It assumes that such
comparison is a valid presentation of Quality. I love my children.
What do I compare that to so as to make it real in a relativistic
world, not loving them? Do I need to measure the love so as to place
it in reality? I create music using Garageband on my Mac. How do I
compare the act of creation? Is it to lack of creation? Do I
consider one act of creation relative to another? Do I give one
occurrence a "10" and another a "2"? I like the color blue, but
relative to what? Not liking the color blue? My liking of the color
red? So, blue becomes better relative to red, what exactly does that
say? It is a preference, wow imagine that. I try to do things the
best I can, not because of some relative notion, but because I want
to. What is "best"? Well the relativist would say that it is better
than "not so best". What a snarly idea!

Betty Botter bought a bit of butter.
The butter Betty Botter bought was a bit bitter
And made her batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter
Makes better batter.
So Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter,
Making Betty Botter's bitter batter better.

Arghh! I've got callouses on my lips!

Cheers,
Mark
